Maruti Brezza Facelift: The new Brezza, with its restyled front, takes on a sportier posture. The grille has been opened up, and features a unique honeycomb shape that adds tangential interest without being gaudy.

The application of LED headlamps features integrated DRLs that create a unique signature, enhancing the vehicle’s modern impression from distance.

Post revisions, the overall shape of the car has been retained, but the profile is what sees the least number of changes — new alloy wheel designs help the car appear more premium.

The rear gets revised tail lamps with LED components for better visibility and a newer night-time look.

It’s not that the Carreras are unapproachable — far from it — but it’s a fit and finish upgrade that allows the entire family of Carrera to feel just that bit more substantial and refined without losing what made the base Carrera so approachable in the first place.

Maruti Brezza Facelift: Interior Refinements

The transformation is more dramatic inside. The dashboard layout has been thoroughly revised and the materials used are of a higher quality, which feel more substantial to touch.

In the center console, there’s a larger infotainment screen with better graphics and responsiveness — one of the more frequent complaints about the previous-generation vehicle.

Seats are covered in more durable fabrics with supported bolstering for additional comfort on longer trips. The design of the steering wheel has been completely revamped and features more ergonomically placed controls for different vehicle functionalities.

Ambient lighting was added, in higher trims as well, that lets you specify the colors of your interior light which improves the cabin during night driving.

Altogether, these changes have made the new Celerio’s environment feel more upmarket but doesn’t veer away from Maruti’s proposition of making cars with value at the core.

Technological Integration

Technological upgrades go beyond the obvious infotainment improvements. You won’t need a cable to use your smartphone on the daily when connecting with either an Android or Apple device as the new system supports wireless smartphone integration.

The voice recognition feature is more precise in capturing speech with characteristics unique to Indian accents, thus rendering the conversation experience more natural and less jarring.

Top trims get a 360-degree camera system to help with parking in crowded urban environments. The instrument cluster has been updated with new larger digital displays with driver-customizable information layouts.

Performance Refinements

The proven 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, enhanced to comply with stricter emission regulations, won’t be replaced under the updated skin.

The power figure remains the same at around 103 bhp, but that’s been complemented by an upgrade to the engine management system that should provide better throttle response and marginally better economy numbers.

The 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options remain unchanged, with the latter having received calibration updates for improved shifting smoothness and response during passing situations.

The suspension geometry gets a slight revision to strike a better compromise between ride comfort and handling precision, especially on the mixed bag of road surfaces lengths around Indian driving conditions.

Safety Enhancements

Automatic transmission models now feature hill-hold assist, while the number of airbags and electronic stability control is now available on more variants.

Structural bracing is still in line with the platform’s proven strength, which has led to decent crash test results.

The top variants of the new Maruti sedan include advanced driver assistance stay, with features such as automated emergency braking and lane departure warning fast becoming the standard of the flagship.

Market Positioning

The Brezza facelift comes to a far more competitive arena than its predecessor had to contend with. Maruti has pitched it as a value-for-money proposition that offers sensible proportions, cost effective ownership and intelligent features that get progressively more advanced.

This is evident in the pricing strategy, which is neither exorbitant nor cheap — incremental increases seem to be purposeful, because each element of the car has been improved in a physical, usable way.

The Variant Structure Has Been Simplified For Clearer Differentiation Between Trim Levels And More Straightforward Consumer Choice

Maruti Brezza Facelift

With the Maruti Brezza facelift, the automaker has clearly chosen evolution over revolution. It retains the core attributes that made the model successful, but addressed specific aspects that needed attention to stay competitive.

The seasoned compact SUV now boasts a host of contemporary features without losing sight of Maruti’s long-standing lineage of the low-cost cars that go on to be ‘cheap to own’.

This seems well tuned to the current environment, where value is not just in the upfront cost, but throughout the ownership experience.
